Brand workshops that get your leadership team pulling the same way

Before a brand, website or campaign can work harder, the thinking behind it needs to be right, and the people who run the business need to agree on it. We run brand workshops with your senior team, built on research with your staff and the people who choose you.

How a brand workshop runs

A workshop is where the research meets the people who run the business, and where they agree what happens next.

Workshops we have run include Cambourne, Sava, Staffline, Sayfa Systems, Anderson Group and HCML.

Before, during and after: Research before it, a working session with your team, and a clear direction after.

Research first: We review your brand, competitors and market, and talk to your staff and the people who choose you.

Choose who takes part: Usually your senior management team, because they set the direction. Sometimes clients or customers too.

The workshop: Together we work through what you stand for, who you are for, what you offer and how you are seen.

A direction you can use: We write it up: your vision and values, a simplified proposition and how to structure and describe your services.

What a brand workshop settles

  1. 01

    One view from many

Leadership, sales and delivery each see the business a little differently. A workshop puts those views in one room and turns them into a shared answer.

  2. 02

    What you stand for

What the business stands for, what it offers and how its clients see it, agreed by the people who run it.

  3. 03

    An offer that makes sense

With Anderson Group’s senior team, workshops reviewed how the company positioned itself and streamlined its products into an offer that made sense to the end user.

  4. 04

    A shared language

HCML’s facilitated brand sprint gave the team a shared language and a clear set of vision and values to build on.

  5. 05

    Evidence before opinion

For Bush & Co, we ran a full brand audit with the client and a select group of their team, alongside interviews with the solicitors and insurers who choose them.

  6. 06

    A brief everyone has agreed

What comes out of the room becomes the brief for the brand, the website and the marketing, so the work that follows starts from an answer, not a guess.

From a workshop to marketing the team could run.

Sayfa, a leading supplier of safety products for working at height, had an ambitious growth plan and a tired brand holding it back.

An extensive brand workshop and research project looked at how the company saw its own brand, how customers related to the offer and how it should position itself. Sayfa did not want to move far from its original logo, so we modernised it with a suite of enhancements. With the strategy and guidelines in place, we rolled out templates for brochures, case studies, e-shots and newsletters, giving the team the assets to carry on with its own marketing.

Questions about brand workshops

Who should come to a brand workshop?

The people who set the direction, usually your senior management team. Depending on the question, we also hear from staff, clients or customers, either in the workshop itself or in interviews before it.

What do we get afterwards?

A clear direction in writing that your team has agreed: what you stand for, your vision and values, and a simplified proposition. For Cambourne it also set out how to structure and describe the company’s services. It then becomes the brief for the identity, the website and the marketing.

Do you run workshops on their own?

On every project shown here, the workshop opened a wider piece of work: a brand, a website or a campaign. If a workshop is all you need, tell us what you are trying to settle and we will give you an honest view of whether one will help.

How long does it take, and what does it cost?

It depends on how much research comes first and how many people take part. We take on defined projects and ongoing support. For a first look at where you stand, our free marketing audit comes back with three things you could fix this month.

Ask us something else

“Cambourne let us start with people, through workshops and a client survey, before we designed anything. From there came a new identity, brochures and direct mail to carry it, and a website. Years later we rebuilt their website, and we host it now. I love that they came back.”
