Social media and LinkedIn built around how people choose

Knowing where to focus and what to say matters more than doing more. We find out where the people you need to reach already look and what they want to hear, then plan the calendar, make the content and run the campaigns, organic and paid.

Our experience

It is rarely a lack of effort. More often it is effort without a clear reason behind it.

Social, LinkedIn and campaign work for HCML, Anglia Interiors, Juju and Table Tennis England.

Research first: The research comes first, so the plan rests on evidence rather than our taste.

Find out where your buyers look: We talk to the people you want to reach and look at the data, to learn where they spend time.

Set the message and the calendar: We agree what to say, to whom and how often, and turn it into a content calendar.

Make and run it: We write and design the posts, films and campaign assets, and run the organic and paid activity.

Report and improve: We report on what reached the right people and what turned into conversations, then change the plan to match.

Why social media stalls

  1. 01

    Activity without direction

You post regularly, but nobody can say what it is for or whether it leads to the right conversations.

  2. 02

    Posts about services, not stories

A feed of what you sell gives a buyer little reason to stop or share. HCML’s buyers told us real stories land harder than messaging built around services.

  3. 03

    Bursts, then silence

A flurry around a launch, then nothing for months. HCML’s buyers wanted to hear from a provider all year round rather than be bombarded.

  4. 04

    The wrong people engaging

Likes and follows go up, but the people who make the decision aren’t among them.

  5. 05

It all rests on one person

When one founder or one marketer is the only voice, the feed goes quiet whenever they are busy.

  6. 06

Paid clicks with nowhere to land

Ads send people to a page that doesn’t explain the offer, so the spend doesn’t turn into enquiries.

A complex subject, made to matter to a busy buyer.

Some subjects take a lot of explaining before they work in a feed. That is where the planning earns its keep.

When businesses could choose their water supplier for the first time, water2business needed regulation change to matter to a busy Finance Director or Facilities Manager. We created the brand from scratch, then ran its marketing: strategic plans, social media and e-shot campaigns, and editorial, films, animations and infographics for the sectors the change affected most.

Questions we are asked

Is LinkedIn worth it for an organisation like ours?

It depends on whether your buyers are there. We find out where the people you need to reach already look before recommending any channel, and if LinkedIn isn’t it, we’ll say so.

Will you write the posts, or just give us a plan?

Either, or both. We can set the strategy and the calendar for your team to run, or write, design and run the content with you. Our work is designed to connect the thinking with the doing, so the posts stay true to the plan.

How will we know it’s working?

Reporting and optimisation are part of the service. We agree at the start what the activity is for, report against that, and change the plan when something isn’t working. We won’t promise follower numbers or results we can’t control.

Do you work on a retainer or by campaign?

Both. Some clients bring us a single campaign or launch. Others work with us on an ongoing basis for content planning, digital activity, campaigns and optimisation. The right model depends on what you need and how much support it takes to keep momentum.

Ask us something else

“The creative and engaging nature of the Loop brand has enabled us to develop a social online presence and following which, as a governing body of the sport, we have never had/embraced before. The success of the campaign has exceeded expectation and Ideate’s expertise in creating a brand that encapsulates the essence of social Ping Pong has been a large contributing factor in the success of this initiative.”
