Website maintenance: your site checked every week and put right in small steps

After launch, small things go wrong quietly. A link breaks, a page drops out of Google, a form stops recording. AI runs six checks on your site every week, with more each month and quarter.

What happens each week

Small, reversible fixes from a written list are made straight away and logged. Anything bigger is written up for a person to decide.

When a check finds something: AI does the checking. What it may change is set out in a written policy, and the list is short.

Find: A check turns up a problem: a dead address that still gets visits, say, or an image with no description.

Fix, if it’s small: If the fix is on the list, we have access and the change can be undone, it’s made in the same run.

Log it: Every fix is logged with what changed, how to undo it and how it was checked.

Write up the rest: New pages, new copy and plugin changes are never done in a weekly run. They’re written up as Action needed.

Six checks, every week

The SEO monitoring behind website care, written up in plain English with one verdict on each: Clear, Fixed, Watch or Action needed.

  1. 01

    Search Console health

New errors, pages Google couldn’t index, manual actions and security notices. Each one is fixed or explained.

  2. 02

    Broken links and 404s

Dead addresses that Google or your visitors hit this week, redirected or fixed, and the redirect tested.

  3. 03

    Ranking movers

Search terms that moved three or more places, up or down, with a line on why.

  4. 04

    New pages

Anything published that week gets its title, description, headings, links in and image text checked, and whether it’s in your sitemap and in Google.

  5. 05

    Analytics sanity

Sessions, organic sessions and enquiries against last week. Anything more than a third out of line is flagged.

  6. 06

    Speed spot-check

Your homepage and one key landing page on mobile, with any slowdown noted.

When small fixes are no longer enough.

Weekly care keeps a good site in good order. It won’t turn a tired site into a new one.

If the same problems keep coming back, or your site no longer explains what you do, a redesign may be the better spend. A rebuild done well keeps what the old site earned.

Questions we are asked

How much does website maintenance cost?

It depends on what the plan covers. Software updates, backups and hosting are one set of costs, and checks on how the site does in Google are another, so two monthly prices often aren’t buying the same thing. Ask each provider what’s included and what counts as extra.

Do you update our theme and plugins?

Not in a weekly run. Theme, template and plugin changes can alter how your site looks or works, so they are always asked about first and planned as a piece of work of their own.

Can we approve every change ourselves?

Yes. Say so, and every change is asked about first, while the checks carry on each week as before.

Do you need access to our site?

To make fixes, yes, whether or not we built it. The checks read your Search Console and Analytics with your permission, so they run without it. When a fix can’t be made for want of access, the write-up says so and names the access it needs.

Who runs the checks?

AI agents, one for each client, each working only with that client’s own files, so nothing passes from one client to another.
