Film and animation that make a complicated subject clear
Brand films, explainer videos and animation for organisations with something complex to say. We look at what your audience needs to understand, then script it, shoot or animate it, and put it to work on your website and at launch.
How a film comes together
Four stages, from the first idea to the launch.
Films and animation we have made include work for the GLAA, Anderson Group, water2business, Staffline, Conergy, Sava, Anthony Collins Solicitors and Anglia Interiors.

When film earns its place: Film and animation help most when a subject is harder to explain than it should be.
Find the story: We look at what your audience needs to understand and what has already been made, and build the idea around the gap.
Script and storyboard: We write the script with you, then storyboard it, so you see how the story unfolds before any filming or animation starts.
Shoot or animate: Then we make it, as live-action film or as animation.
Put it to work: We put the film where your audience will see it: on your website, at launch and in the material around it.
Where film has earned its place
Here is how our clients have used it.
- 01
The subject is technical
Solar power is a technical, complex subject. Our Autarky animation for Conergy set out its benefit in a user-friendly, jargon-free and light-hearted style.
- 02
There are myths to clear up
Anderson Group’s audience had little time or interest in payroll and outsourcing, so we made a suite of animations to debunk the myths.
- 03
The brand needs a personality
Film clips on Sava’s new site gave a quick, engaging way into the more complicated parts, and added personality to the brand.
- 04
The subject has been covered before
Most films on modern slavery covered the signs. Very few said what to do next, so that became the GLAA film’s starting point.
- 05
The film needs a launch
The GLAA’s film was released at its annual conference, with 5,000 USB keys, leaflets, posters and cards.
- 06
People need to learn something
The Safe Rugby portal we produced for the NHS and RFU included films by key rugby ambassadors and footage of the game at play.
Films made for the website they live on.
For Anglia Interiors we designed and built the new website, and we made the films as well.
Shot in the showroom and in customers’ own kitchens, the films show how Anglia works and talk through the choices every buyer faces: doors, handles, worktops, lighting. The site puts them to work, behind the homepage headline, in the menu and on a page of their own.

Questions about film
Do you make live-action films as well as animation?
Yes, both. The GLAA’s film on modern slavery was shot on location with a cast of 12. For Conergy and Anderson Group we made animation, from the Autarky animation to a suite of animations on the myths of outsourcing.
Can you write the script?
Yes. For the GLAA we looked at what films already existed, worked with the client on a script that gave an authentic portrayal of exploitation, then storyboarded it shot by shot.
Does a film have to be part of a bigger project?
No. For the GLAA the film was the project, with the launch material around it. For Conergy, Anderson Group and Sava, film and animation were part of wider brand and website work.
How much does a film cost, and how long does it take?
It depends on what the film has to do, how long it runs, and whether it is shot or animated. A filmed piece also depends on locations, cast and shoot days. We’ll set out a realistic timetable once we understand the brief, and in a free intro we can talk through what you need and give you an honest view.
“It’s great to work with a team that are so passionate about what you are trying to create and can take the brief and produce something beyond your expectations.”
